Our Privacy & Ethical AI Pledge

We believe any AI used in education must be held to the highest standards of privacy, security, and fairness.

Five Core Commitments

Every feature we build and every decision we make is guided by these non-negotiable principles.

01

Data Anonymization

Our proprietary anonymization engine ensures privacy of faculty and students. Personally Identifiable Information is fully decoupled from grades and submissions at every stage of processing.

02

No Data Retention

No student work is ever retained in Grady beyond the display interface to faculty. Once feedback is delivered, raw submissions are purged from our systems — no exceptions.

03

No Training on Submissions

Never trains AI on student submissions or faculty course material. Your academic content stays yours. We will never monetize or repurpose student data in any form.

04

Regulatory Compliance

Grady meets & exceeds the FERPA, GDPR, ISO, and NIST standards. HECVAT forms are available. We proactively work with institutional compliance teams to meet every requirement.

05

Continuous Auditing

Our algorithms are continuously studied for transparency, bias, and fairness because we are educators and we care. Independent audits and published benchmarks ensure accountability.

Data Security & Encryption

All sensitive data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption to prevent unauthorized access.

Encryption at Rest

All stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by financial institutions and government agencies.

Encryption in Transit

Every data transfer is protected with TLS 1.3 encryption, ensuring information cannot be intercepted between your institution and our servers.

Access Controls

Role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication ensure only authorized personnel can access sensitive system components.

Infrastructure Security

Our infrastructure is hosted in SOC 2 Type II certified data centers with continuous monitoring, intrusion detection, and automated threat response.

Built by Educators, for Educators

Grady was founded by university faculty who understand that trust is the foundation of educational technology. We know that adopting AI in the classroom requires confidence that student data is protected, that algorithms are fair, and that the technology serves pedagogy rather than the other way around.

Our commitment goes beyond compliance checkboxes. We engage in ongoing dialogue with institutional review boards, IT security teams, and faculty governance bodies to ensure Grady meets the real-world requirements of higher education.
